The World of Shibori

Shibori is a method of resist dying that includes stitching, clamping and binding techniques. Guild member Judy Warren has explored this form for many years. At our regular Guild meeting on February 19, Judy will share the basics and show samples of her work as well as the work of others.

Our meeting will be Saturday, the 19th, from 2:00 - 4:00 PM at the Charleston Area Senior Center located at 259 Meeting Street (this is right next to Jestine's Kitchen and across the street from the fire station.) Click here to see a map.We are considering using this meeting location on a regular basis so, in February and March, we will be "test-driving" the space -- and they will be trying us out as weekend guests as well.

A real plus to this centrally located, downtown space is free parking. The parking lot runs parallel to Meeting Street and fills the block between Wentworth and Society Streets behind the Senior Center and Jestine's Kitchen. Since the Southeastern Wildlife Expo will be in full swing this weekend, we highly recommend car pools. After you park, just walk around to Meeting Street and use the front entrance.

If you have recently completed a project, please bring it for "Show and Tell." As always, guests and visitors are welcome.  See you on Saturday!
